What should I watch on YouTube that can help me grow spiritually?

Thank you for the request.

I am sure that you are aware that books and YouTube are complementary to our spiritual growth. They are “signposts” as Eckhart Tolle calls them. And if we know how to use these signposts, we avoid reinventing the wheel — as well as the big amount of energy and time wasted.

The problem with relying too much on external information for our own progress is that there is too much out there, and most of the time, it lacks substance/truth — and sometimes, it can actually backfire on us, and plant wrong ideas in our mind that may limit our reasoning, hence our understanding.

You want to make sure that before you learn from a specific source, you get in touch with your feelings about this source — does it feel true, attuned to you? It would be helpful if you got “confirmation” about the veracity of the source too. This is a bit complex because our conditions are all different. But, don’t underestimate the power of your intent — if you truly want it, you will find a way.

Also, even if you are learning all kinds of things — you want to roll up your sleeves, and create the habit of testing what you learn. Research on it, use your own discernment, and open yourself to different possibilities.

Anyhow, here are some channels I recommend:

J. Krishnamurti — this spiritual master is not a mystery. His teachings are more a meditation than a “how-to.” While listening to him, make sure you keep an open mind, and just look into yourself as he talks. His teachings aren’t always easy to get, especially the first few times. But if you resonate with him, in time, everything will make sense — and every time you get back to him, you will learn something new.

Osho — known for his controversial, yet profound teachings. Osho isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s fine. If you don’t know him, give his teachings a try and see if you resonate with him. If you don’t, move on.

Sadhguru — one of the warmest, and loveliest teachers on the planet, and a funny one too! It’s hard not to get charmed by Sadhguru. And it’s harder not to understand his simple yet transformative teachings. If you are curious about spirituality, esoteric subjects, or would simply like to have a good time — make sure you listen to him.

Eckhart Tolle — he has changed the lives of many through his humane, and practical teachings. Again, he is no mystery to most. If you want a down to Earth spiritual time, watch his videos.

There are obviously other teachers, channels and parameters to keep in mind, but since this is a general question, the answer will remain general, thus, helpful to most people.

As a bonus, I would add my own channel 😉 — it’s still new but it has some interesting videos (hopefully) on it; you can watch it here: Alchemy of the Hidden

Blessings,

Rabih
